Karen Wiltshire
Karen Wiltshire is Professor of Climate Science at Trinity College Dublin, where she holds the E3 CRH Chair of Climate Science. A leading expert in climate and coastal sciences, she focuses on marine socio-ecosystems and is widely recognised across Ireland, Germany and Europe.
She plays an active role in the Climate + Co-Centre, contributing interdisciplinary research and collaboration that connect climate science with society, policy and innovation. Known for building large, diverse teams, Wiltshire champions system-level approaches and education-led capacity building.
Her career includes senior leadership at the Alfred Wegener Institute, Max Planck Institute and the University of St Andrews. In 2025, she was elected a Professorial Fellow of Trinity College Dublin and awarded the A.G. Huntsman Medal for her innovative, interdisciplinary contributions to global marine science.
